This grade 2 listed building within Cowbridge Conservation Area poses a real challenge in balancing the meeting of modern building standards with the protection of the building’s heritage.

Our skills, experience and resource are helping us deliver what will be an exceptional end product. We agreed the purchase of this grade 2 listed property via private treaty with the aim of carefully converting it into four private apartments. However, in discussion with the Vale of Glamorgan Housing department, we agreed to convert the building into six affordable apartments for occupiers aged over 55.

Simultaneously, we contracted with the Council to redevelop the former magistrates court behind the police station into a further eight brand-new AECB (EPCA equivalent) low carbon apartments. Following the grant of Listed Building Consent, Full Planning Permission and also Conservation Area Consent, we demolished the former court, undertook a soft trip of the police station and progressed to a site start in mid-2025.
