Contracts completed for Cowbridge with the Vale of Glamorgan Council.
Further to us securing planning permission, listed building consent and conservation area consent in March, we are now pleased to report that Bluefield Land have completed contracts with the Vale of Glamorgan Council to deliver 14 new apartments for people over 55 on the former police station and magistrates courts on Westgate in Cowbridge.
The project is a combination of eight new build AECB energy efficient apartments in place of the courts and the refurbishment of the grade 2 listed former police station into six unique homes. The scheme will also provide associated parking, SUDS and amenity spaces.
Our guiding principle is that everyone deserves a great place to call home, and these high-quality apartments will be warm, comfortable and a safe places to live in the centre of this vibrant and sustainable town.
We look forward to working with the Vale Council to deliver the important scheme.

The site has been cleared by our sister company Cardiff Demolition and we are gearing up to start as soon as possible.

Planning application submitted in Cowbridge
After considerable community engagement and pre-application consultations, we are delighted to have submitted our planning application for 14 affordable dwellings for the over 55s at the former police station and magistrates court in Cowbridge. The listed building application will follow very soon. Due to the nature of the feedback through the pre-app process, we are optimistic of an early decision from the council, to allow us a site start in the first half of 2025.

A milestone has been reached at Porth, with our sister company, Cardiff Demolition, this month moving onto site to begin the process of soft stripping asbestos from the site before the full demolition and site clearance takes place in July. A construction start will then take place in August

This site was purchased unconditionaly in July ’23. Working with our Partners, Trivallis, we received a positive planning decision in Feb ’24. These dwellings will be built to the latest energy performance certificate using the latest technology based on a fabric first concept.

The Old Foundry in Pontardawe was demolished in 2007. This exciting development of new, much needed light industrial units will be built to the latest regulations and will provide high quality space for local and national businesses. The scheme will be funded by the development bank of Wales.

A grade 2 listed police station
The former police station was purchased unconditionally in August ’23. Following discussions with the Vale of Glamorgan Council we have agreed to include a surplus building at the rear of the development thus bringing forward 14 units for over 55’s. These dwellings are much needed throughout the Vale and this scheme will secure the future of this grade two listed building
